The winemakers of Villa Cilnia produce, make, age, and bottle their own wines.

The 9 hectares of vineyards, which are part of the Chianti District and the Chianti-Aretine Hills D.O.C.G., are cultivated with Sangiovese, Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Sirah, Traminer and Pinot Bianco grapes and gathered by hand between the end of September and early October.
Our wines are deeply rooted in the territory and are produced in a way that respects the natural balance of the entire property, which is made up of Apennine woods and wildlife.  This is what moved us to embrace the organic ideal, after several years of struggle.

CHIANTI COLLI ARETINI 2012
Bright ruby red.  To the sense of smell, fragrant and wild cherry along with purple flowers prelude the flavors of pink pepper and cloves.  The Aretine Hills Chianti has a great drinkability, a wine for every day.  Fresh flavors and rich tannin are supported by mellowness and full body.  The crispness of the fruit pleasantly dominates the palate.
Ideal pairing: Medium or long aged pecorino cheeses, first courses with sauces in Tuscan tradition, and Chianina grilled steak.

CIGNORO 2010
Dark ruby red with beautiful brightness.  Black cherries under alcohol, blackberry preserves, and rose petals in alcohol combine with sweet spices and the tertiary aromas of tobacco, leather and cocoa given the elevation in oak barrels.  The important structure elegantly sustains the fresh flavors and silky tannin that balance the smoothness.  The palate is left with a broad and persistent flavor full of fruit.
Ideal pairing: Stewed meats, roasted game, cheeses from mountain pastures and very aged cheeses
